Lake Pictures

I spent Sunday and Monday of the holiday weekend up at my parents' house, in the Land of Lobster. Mom and I went for a couple of long walks and poked around the grounds of the summer camp that's up the road. Yes, technically trespassing, but everyone had gone home for the season! Visited with my grandparents and got loaded up with more fresh veggies to bring back to NH. Had a fantastic dinner on Sunday night with Mom and Dad - lobster, steamers, and fresh corn on the cob.

My cousin Jen and her husband Josh were up from NC and I got to visit with them for a while too. I went to their wedding a couple of summers ago, but had an allergic reaction to one of the appetizers at the cocktail hour, so wound up in the ER instead of at the reception. Not so much fun, and since it happened before the wedding party arrived, I never actually got to meet Josh! So it was great to finally catch up with them and hear about their lives and their new place.

I haven't taken any lake pictures since my parents moved into their new house - partially due to sulking about losing the cabin (!) but mostly due to not really having an easy way to get down to the water. They've started clearing out some of the underbrush this summer though, so it's a little better. At least you can see the water from the house this summer!

They don't have as good of a view straight up the lake as they used to, but this is kind-of-up, kind-of-across to the far side of the lake.
Straight across to the point. The sun was really bright on Monday afternoon - not a cloud in the sky - so with the glare and shadows you can't even see the cottage over there.
